The flexible Tailex lining moves with the foot with each step, helping to prevent blisters and other foot injuries, and creates small air pockets in the boot, giving the foot room to breathe. It also wicks away moisture, which rapidly evaporates as soon as the boot is removed, reducing the growth of bacteria that could cause mildew or odor. The Rapid Response also protects the foot in several ways. The ASTM F2413-05-rated composite toe guards the foot from compressive loads up to 2,500 pounds and impacts up to 75 pounds. A Shock Eliminator heel cushion and dual-density outsole absorb shock, while a dual-density polyurethane cushion and EVA midsole protect the sole of the foot. No need to fumble with laces at the end of a tough mission. The durable YKK side zipper allows for rapid on-off.
